Throughout my career as a registered nurse, I have become increasingly
interested in a holistic view of health care. In my experiences in a variety of health care settings, including post-surgical care, intensive and cardiac care, labor and delivery, and school nursing, I have learned that health care needs vary greatly. I value and respect the unique qualities and experiences of each individual, and strive to offer you the individualized care you deserve. According to a 2012 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, 60-80% of visits to family practice doctors may be related to stress. While medication and medical procedures are certainly appropriate and necessary in certain situations, I believe less intrusive therapies can play a vital role in helping an individual achieve optimal health and well-being in body, mind and spirit. My background in nursing, along with a few years of private practice in music therapy, provided the perfect backdrop for a career in the fascinating field of biofeedback. |
